Mo'nique I just want to let you know that I watched your DVD I coulda been your cellmate, and I think that it is so wonderful to see a celebrity like yourself showing concern for the common people because alot of people make it big and is only stuck on fame and glory. This movie really touched me because just recently my thirteen year old son went over one of his white friend's house (that he has gone to the YMCA several times with) to get another friend of his and when he got there he went to the door and rung the doorbell(the boy's daddy is upstairs asleep because he is a deputy and had just worked 36 hrs. so he says but he hears my son ringing the doorbell six times)my son notice his dad's deputy car in the driveway so why would he be robbing them. Anyway, the boy's aunt pulls up and claims that she saw my son coming out of the house (but my son stated that while he was ring the doorbell the door came open and as he was closing it thats when the aunt pulled up)she stated that my son asked if her nephew was there and she said no, she said that he did not have anything in his hand and he was not acting suspicious but she notice that there was four bikes in the yard. She claims that when she entered the house she noticed the back door opened and the nintendo 360 was missing, but I found out from the boy that my son was going to get the nintendo was upstairs in the boy so now I asking questions like if you heard my son ringing the doorbell six times, and the aunt goes in and notice the back door open and my son is at the front door and the nintendo missing theres nothing in his hands and he's riding a bike; so how are you accusing my son of robbery. To top it all off the boy's father came to my house in the deputy car off duty, the mother, aunt, and boy are in their personal car. When I goes out to see whats going on and call my son outside. This motherfucker throws my son up against his car, put cuffs on him and puts him in the car. Right about now I am all in his face and didn't care if I caught a charge. Then he call they city cops, at that time I am trying to talk to my son through a rolled up window, he is crying a sweating really bad so I open up the car door and this motherfucker tells me to close the door, I tells him that I am his mother and I can talk to my son all the time I'm hoping that he would have put a hand on me but he didn't. Meanwhile, they take my child to juvenile detention and would not release him in my custody (rememeber my son is only 13 and has n-e-v-e-r been in trouble with the law); to make matters short the next day an acting judge who was standing in for the juvenile judge because she was out said that my child was charged with aggreviated burgery and has to go to Timbersprings for 30 days. During all this time I am torn completely up because I am a divorced mother of two (girl 16 & boy 13),full time student, and work parttime and been away from my babies since they have been in this world and all of a sudden this happens I felt like my whole world was destroyed. The reason your movie touched me so much is because like you said people need to put this racial mess behind and stop judging a person because of the color of their skin, gender, religion, etc. because we are all human and everyone has did something wrong and just haven't got caught;like you said. Now I have to tell my children that they can't go over to there white friends house because if something comes up missing then they would be blamed for it. This make me s-o-o sick.
